Imprint

Time presses into my shoulder
my ankle, my scalp
the tender skin of my thigh
a tattoo imprinted
as a tribute to all, to us
to everything betwixt
flashing before my fingers
slipping through my eyes
I tie the stones to my waist
step into my pool in the woods
hold my lungs until
my breath gives out
and before it goes dark
time gives me one last
cruel gift, your face,
your breath.
